The Mitchell family originally founded the distillery, and the J\u0026amp;A Mitchell group has owned it since rebuilding and resuming production in 2004.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGlengyle Distillery completes every stage of whisky production on-site. Its sister distillery, Springbank, carries out traditional floor malting. The team bottles each release in Campbeltown’s bottling hall. Sharing both its production team and schedule with Springbank Distillery, Glengyle operates for a limited period of around three months each year, typically from October to December.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGlengyle’s rich history stretches from its founding in 1872 to the present day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHeavily Peated Kilkerran, a departure from the typically lightly peated single malt, is released twice a year at cask strength, reaching around 45PPM.
