Whistler’s Storm brings together two great British traditions: tea and a proper drink, taking something wonderfully familiar and giving it a completely different character.
Founded by Dom Richardson after a trip to the tea fields of Kerala in 2019, the independent Birmingham-based brand was created around a simple idea: treat tea with the same care and attention normally reserved for wine, coffee or spirits. Instead of using artificial flavourings or loading the liquid with sugar, Whistler’s Storm works with high-quality loose-leaf teas and a slow cold-brew process, allowing the natural aromas, tannins and flavours of each tea to develop gently before being blended into the finished liqueur.
The result is a collection of distinctive tea liqueurs with genuine depth and personality. From the rich, malty character of Assam Black to the fragrant citrus and floral notes of Earl Grey, each expression keeps the tea itself firmly at the centre of the experience. They are complex enough to enjoy simply over ice, but also incredibly versatile behind the bar, adding structure, aroma and an unexpected twist to classic and modern cocktails. They can even find their way into desserts and food pairings, because apparently tea wasn’t busy enough already.
Whistler’s Storm feels both modern and reassuringly British: independent, inventive and built around a real respect for its ingredients. It is exactly the kind of producer we like to showcase at Beyond Bottles, taking something traditional and familiar and finding a genuinely original way to make people experience it differently.
