Domaine Rémi Jeanniard Bourgogne Aligoté Vieilles Vignes is a bright and concentrated white Burgundy from rich, old vines.
This family estate was created in 2004. The vineyard covers 5.8 hectares over 3 communes: Morey Saint Denis, Gevrey Chambertin and Chambolle Musigny in the heart of the Cote de Nuits.
Winemakers grow these vines showing great respect for the land. The unique wine produced reflects the grape variety, the vintage and the terroir. The yields are controlled, and the grapes are picked by hand.
The grapes pass through a pneumatic pressing and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.
The wine then ages in oak barrels (used 4 times) for ten months for a subtle spicy note.
This old vine Aligoté displays crisp green apple freshness and citrus fruits flavours along with light floral notes. It's an easy drinking style of mineral driven Burgundy with light apply and citrus fruit with fresh acidity on a zippy palate. It also displays a little pear fruit and a slightly saline stone rich finish. There's a lovely delicacy to the texture but hold it in the mouth for a moment and appreciate the fruit's concentration too.
