Important Information
ⓘ You must be aged 18 or above to buy alcohol in the UK.
Avignonesi Da•Di Rosso Toscana IGT is a rich, spicy red wine from a beautifully historic winery. It is a blend of native Italian grape varieties including Canaiolo, Sangiovese, Mammolo, Alicante and Ciliegiolo, which are fermented partially in whole bunches.
Avignonesi is produced at Le Capezzine winery, an historic estate where winemaking mastery, love for nature, the community of Montepulciano, and consumers meet. Founded in 1974, its current owner is Virginie Saverys.
For this particular wine, Avignonesi has put aside steel and oak in favour of vinifying the wine in Tuscan clay. Chinese for “earth, soil”, the producers therefore chose the name Da•Di to underline this unusual winemaking decision.
Enjoy Avignonesi Da•Di Rosso Toscana IGT lightly chilled. It makes a perfect accompaniment to veal, poultry and cured meat.
Producer's Tasting Notes
The nose opens with a sweet spiciness: cinnamon and star anise accompanied by small red fruits such as raspberry and currant. The aromas are suave and well balanced. The entrance into the mouth is welcoming and harmonious. The silky tannin caresses the lips and paves the way for a body of medium density and persistence. The finish is the highlight of the encounter between freshness and sweetness, which entices to sip another glass.
