Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 is a Japanese single malt whisky distilled at the Chichibu distillery in Saitama.
Ichiro Akuto matures the whisky in a combination of different red wine casks to give it incredible depth.
The maturation process uses red wine casks from four different continents. French casks lend a subtlety and freshness, New Zealand casks add a distinct fruity character, American casks contribute richness, and Japanese casks add soft spice and berry notes.
He masterfully blends these different casks to create this incredibly complex and rich whisky.
