Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve offers a distinctive and elegant pure malt whisky. The producers blend various single malts and finish them in wine casks crafted from French oak.
Bottled at 46.5% ABV, this exquisite expression is a testament to the innovative spirit and dedication to quality that defines Ichiro's Malt. Their distillery rapidly garnered acclaim for its exceptional whiskies, which combine traditional Scottish methods with unique Japanese techniques.
These casks enhance the whisky with a floral and slightly nutty character, complemented by sustained fruit notes.
To create this whisky, they vat single malts aged in ex-bourbon barrels, hogsheads, and puncheons.
After blending, they transfer the whisky into French wine casks called Ovum casks. These large, egg-shaped casks, holding around 2000 litres, are made in the Charentes region of France and impart incredible complexity to the whisky.
Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve presents an elegant and rich pure malt whisky. It features notes of red berries, forest fruits, candied citrus, and white flowers. The palate reveals a slight peppery character with dark chocolate, ginger, and red apple, leading to a long, sustained oak spice finish.
