Villa Mottura Stilio Primitivo di Manduria is a deliciously layered and fruity red Italian wine from one of the southern region's most innovative producers.
The Villa Mottura estate has been producing wines in the South of Italy since 1927, and today the fourth generation creates over 1.5 million bottles per year.
Stilio is a new wine in Mottura's range, made from grapes selected from low-yield vineyards in the area of Manduria.
The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested over a period of time, with some being picked after raisining on the vine to develop concentrated fruit flavours and sugar. Then, the grapes underwent traditional maceration for 10-12 days and later a temperature-controlled fermentation. Part of the wine aged in new oak barrels for six months.
Enjoy Villa Mottura Stilio Primitivo di Manduria at a temperature of 18-20°C. It shines alongside red meats, wild game roasts and also aged cheeses. A perfect winter warmer!
Producer's Tasting Notes
Colour: Intense red with purplish reflections.
Bouquet: Austere bouquet of red fruit in jam, morello cherry and dried plum. Tertiary hints of vanilla and cloves.
Palate: Velvety, full-bodied and harmonious. If properly cellared, this wine will keep on developing for the next ten years.
