Full-bodied, elegant and spicy, Weingut Ecker-Eckhof Gruner Veltliner Ried Schlossberg is the Austrian Wagram wine region's most typical Veltliner.
The Schlossberg where the grapes for this wine grow, historically known as "Vogtei Winkelberg" or "Hausberg" is situated at 240m above sea level. On this gentle southern slope with powerful loess soil, many traditional Austrian varietals are cultivated.
Ecker-Eckhof, located in Kirchberg am Wagram in the Niederosterreich region, is run as a family business with history stretching back 400 years. The name “Eckhof” originates from the winery’s location at a crossroads—”Ecke” in German—and the family surname, Ecker. They currently farm 24 hectares of vines. The winemaker, Bernhard Ecker, stands for constant top quality without compromises. His wines display great clarity and finesse as well as longevity, which wine-lovers appreciate year in and year out.
Weingut Ecker-Eckhof Gruner Veltliner Ried Schlossberg is particularly well suited to Austrian traditional cuisine, such as offal in veal broth.
