Gin Sul is a fragrant, citrusy Portuguese inspired gin, made in Hamburg, Germany. It's fresh, light and aromatic.

This dry gin is characterised by the finest botanicals and careful distillation in very small batches. It also boasts subtle hints of Mediterranean citrus.

The founder, Stephan Garbe from Hamburg, fell in love with Portugal and decided to make a hand-crafted gin using local Portuguese ingredients. For complicated reasons (planning permission, that kind of thing) he returned to Hamburg and then founded the Altona Distillery. Here, he produces Gin Sul by hand with his team using botanicals from almost 3,000 km away in south-west Portugal.

Juniper berries, coriander, fresh lemons from Portugal, rosemary, peppers, lavender, cinnamon and gum rockrose (Cistus Ladanifer) are just some of the ingredients which capture the ‘saudade’, or 'soulful longing', in Gin Sul. The gentle and careful distillation in small batches creates a gin with fine citrus notes and a broad body.
